Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

1.1 Contestants must be aged 18 or over on the date of the Competition.
1.2 Seed reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.

2. Compliance + Disqualification

2.1 Contestants must follow all instructions provided by Seed staff and venue staff on the day.
2.2 Seed reserves the right to disqualify any contestant for:

• Breach of these Terms & Conditions

• Unsafe conduct or food hygiene non-compliance

• Dish rule breaches

• Disruptive behaviour

• Misrepresentation of originality or ownership of the dish

2.3 Seed’s decision on disqualification is final.

3. Health, Safety + Food Hygiene

3.1 Contestants participate at their own risk.
3.2 Contestants must comply with all health and safety and food hygiene requirements in place at the venue.
3.3 Seed and the venue reserve the right to stop a contestant from continuing if safety standards are not met.
3.4 Contestants must ensure all food served is safe for tasting.

4. Allergens

4.1 Contestants are responsible for identifying and declaring all allergens used in their dish.
4.2 Contestants must provide a clear ingredient list to Seed upon request.
4.3 Seed reserves the right to refuse tasting if allergen information is unclear or incomplete.

5. Conduct

5.1 Contestants must behave respectfully toward judges, staff, venue personnel, other contestants, and guests.
5.2 Bullying, harassment, intimidation, discriminatory behaviour, or aggressive conduct will result in removal and/or disqualification.

6. Intellectual Property + Usage Rights

6.1 Contestants confirm that their dish concept is their own original creation and does not knowingly infringe another person’s rights.
6.2 By entering, contestants grant Seed a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, recreate, adapt, modify, and sell the dish (including concept, ingredients, name, and presentation) across Seed locations and channels.
6.3 Contestants acknowledge they will not receive royalties, profit share, or additional payment beyond the stated prize(s).
6.4 Seed may adjust the dish for operational, supply, allergen, cost, and consistency requirements.

7. Media + Publicity

7.1 The Competition may be filmed and photographed.
7.2 By participating, contestants grant Seed the right to use their name, likeness, voice, and competition content for marketing and promotional purposes across all platforms (including social media, PR, website, and in-store screens), without further compensation.

8. Prize Payment

8.1 Prize payments will be made by bank transfer (or another method agreed by Seed).
8.2 Seed may require identification and payment details prior to issuing prize money.
8.3 Seed is not responsible for delays caused by missing or incorrect payment details.

9. Cancellation + Changes

9.1 Seed reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or amend the Competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its control.
9.2 Seed will not be liable for any losses incurred due to cancellation or changes, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

10. Liability

10.1 Seed and the venue accept no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
10.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

11. Data Protection

11.1 Seed will process contestant personal data only for the purposes of administering the Competition, contacting contestants, and delivering prizes.
11.2 Seed will not sell contestant data to third parties.

12. Acceptance

Participation in the Competition confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
